Discover more than 135 proven copywriting secrets to creating captivating blog posts that entice your readers to subscribe to your free offer like little kids to candy!

Here’s a limerick about a blog writer
Whose copywriting skills were a bit lighter,
She blogged every day,
But to her dismay,
Her only blog guests, Google spiders.

Then she watched a training by Ty Tribble,
Whose ideas with no one would quibble,
She learned H.E.O.
And it started to show,
And her readers, they started to nibble!

Ok, so the limerick is a little on the silly side, but seriously…

Who else wants to have writing that is entertaining and captivating enough to draw your readers into your blog and keep them coming back for more?

Let’s face it, it’s important to focus on SEO (search engine optimization), but all the organic traffic in the world isn’t going to do you one ounce of good if your writing doesn’t convert your visitors into subscribers! Ty’s taught me that it’s just as important, if not more so, to focus on HEO (human emotion optimization). He got me intrigued with copywriting and I’ve started studying some masters like David Garfinkle, Lorrie Morgan-Ferrero, and John Carlton. And while I’m not a copywriting expert, I thought it would be nice to throw out what I’ve learned to all of you, so you can leverage it too!

And to let you in on a secret: I have a special free gift for you at the end of this post!

Fact is, you’re busy! Why should you take the time to learn copywriting secrets?

My strong hunch is, if you’re like most blog writers, when someone mentions copywriting you think of sales pages and lead capture pages.

Writing great content on your blog is essential, but if you’re not following some key copywriting rules, you’re probably not romancing your readers into taking action. Which means, you’re also probably not seeing as many readers as you would like syndicating your content, subscribing to your list, or joining your network marketing business.

Bear with me, because I’m going to show you how, with a few well chosen words and a little practice you can consistently create blog posts that hook your readers and have them taking your desired action to join your list and your team!

But first…

Here are 3 easy ways to bulk-up your copywriting skills:

Read the blogs of the leaders in your niche (Copyblogger.com, is a good one to start with!)

Hand-write sales letters of products you’ve purchased. It will help you internalize how to write persuasive copy.

Create a swipe file of excellent blog posts and headlines to reference when you’re sitting down to write:

Start with (100 greatest headlines of all time)

Copywriting Secrets that Eliminate Resistance, Trigger Response & Get Attention

Every word you write has an effect on your reader, but certain words pack a bigger punch! There are some words in copywriting that effectively break down your readers’ resistance, trigger a psychological response, and get their attention. They are referred to as magic words, action verbs, and trance or hypnotic words and using these will naturally make your readers feelings and emotions bubble up. Welcome to the sweet world of writing with great HEO that Ty teaches us about!

But Wait! There’s More…

Do you want to know the greatest copywriting secret of all?

The copywriting secret, bucket brigade, is the special sauce that sends your readers sliding through every paragraph of your writing straight to your subscribe button! They are phrases that link your paragraphs together. Think of a TV reporter’s segue; it’s designed to hook the viewer into staying past a commercial break to find out what to wear tomorrow! The bucket brigade follows the same idea!

Think about it…the purpose of everything you write is to get the next sentence read, right? Using a bucket brigade of phrases that build the tension and suspense practically forces your readers to keep reading so they can release the tension by finding out what happens next.

So now you probably want to see some examples of these magic words and tension building phrases…right?

I here’s what I have in store for you:

To thank you for reading my guest post on Ty’s blog, I’ve Created a Copywriting Secrets Cheat Sheet for You with 111 Magic Copywriting Words to help you spice up your blog posts and draw your readers into your content and into action!

I’m also including a list of 25 bucket brigade phrases for you to use in your blog writing to help your blog posts flow and keep your readers anxiously awaiting your next word!

And if that wasn’t enough…

I would write for the search engines and ignore the fact that everyday readers who stop in to see what I was saying or subscribe to my newsletter or RSS feed are the glue that blog together and more. These readers have the potential to become fans and evangelists for you and your brand. When you write something good, they Tweet it and Facebook it.

It’s the quality content that keeps people coming back for more. When I was writing “quantity content” for the search engines, I would get one stop traffic. A person would find the information that they were looking for but they never received the value and quality to pull them in and make them fans.

But there is a promised land in the Quality vs. Quantity argument and that is high quantity of high quality posts.

If you are starting out and want to get the search engined to pay attention to your blog, I suggest a 30 day blogging challenge…one high quality blog post every day, 5 days a week.

Two students of mine did just that and then challenged others to do the same, offering daily tips along the way. You can see the Facebook group page here. It’s amazing and worth spending some time reading and participating in the community…the MLM Blogging Movement. Nearly 300 people have joined them in their challenge!

If you have no idea where to start when it comes to blogging, watch this video that outlines the biggest challenges associated with blogging and then offers some solutions.

Then the secret is going to be led out…

My friends, yes you can make money and generate leads with your blog. But you have to make that decision if that is what you are looking for. A blog is a central marketing tool of you expressing your opinions. Therefore, you have to lay the foundation for your blog.

If you allow me to take the next 3-5 minutes of your time. I will share with you tips that every blogger needs to know and follow to have a successful blog.

Let me share with you, 5 blogging tips that will generate traffic and a smile

1. Share what you know – I like to mention this first because it is vital that you blog about what you know. It doesn’t matter if you started blogging today.

You have information that someone else doesn’t know. Therefore, it is important to blog about what you currently know. When you know a topic it is a lot easier for you to write about it.

2. Make money while blogging – For some reason too many individuals are afraid of making money from their blog. There are ways you can turn your blog to create an income for you.

If you are going to blog, why not take some of that white space and turn it into money. You can sell affiliate products or create your product and sell it as well.

3. Stay up to date with your blog - If you can write a post everyday. Then go for it! That is the best way to jump start your blog. However, I know not everyone can put up a post everyday.

So it is important that you find a schedule when you can create a post and stick to it. When you are blogging, it’s about providing information whether it is funny or educational. By you staying up to date with your blog you’ll be able to generate leads and create an income from it.

4. Offer great information - I visit a lot of blogs and some of my favorite blogs are the ones that provide information that I can apply after reading them. I’m always looking forward to the next post because I know I’m going to learn something.

Remember this simple rule, when you are able to provide solutions to individuals problems they will come back for more.

5. Keep your blog post interesting - Since you are going to be engaging with potential prospects and building trust with your readers. It is important to keep your topics interesting so your readers will come back for more.

You don’t want to blog about the same topic over and over it will bore your readers. Here is a question, I like to ask myself, “What Am I Going To Do Different To Stand Out From The Rest of The Bloggers?” This is a question you want to keep in front of you at all times.

My friends, I want you to know that following these 5 simple tips is all I’ve done since I started JoshGarcia.com. I’ve been tempted to get side track but I stuck to the foundation that I put in place since the beginning.

Now, I’m not saying don’t try new things to generate a lead or sell a product. You must be testing and tweaking methods to increase your sales and lead generation methods.

With that said, I would love to hear from you, “What do you do different to keep people coming back to your blog?“

Who says coming up with great blog post ideas has to be hard? There will be many obstacles beginning bloggers face and writer’s block is one of the biggest hurdles that keep beginners stuck! And then there are the more experienced bloggers who get stuck in a blogging rut. To both of you, I say: “Get Over It!” Let me show you how to easily get over writers block, get out of a rut, and make blogging part of your daily routine.

Writer’s Block? Get over it with these 4 tips:

Frequent blogging = ideas, ideas, ideas! The more you blog, the more ideas you get. The act of writing one post can trigger 10 or more ideas. As you write more frequently you’ll get more traffic and more comments, triggering more ideas! And I find that the comments from my readers give me great ideas.

Go outside and play! Get away from the computer! Stop being a “house-mouse” and go do something. Lots of ideas come to me when I’m out shopping with the kids, on a walk, or on a weekend outing with my family. Most of my ideas come to me when I’m somewhere else.

See what your friend’s are up to: Reading other blogs in your niche! Their posts, the comments their readers are making, and your own comments on other blogs will give you great ideas of things to write about on your own blog!

Study the game: Attend training events, leadership retreats, read books in your niche, take online courses, and stay active in your education. Everything you learn is potential content for your blog.

So, what do you do if you are still don’t know what to write about? Or still stuck in a blogging rut? Here are 25 things you can blog about:

Blog about your passions: If you ask my dad a question about restoring canvas canoes, he will talk to you about it for hours! Is the topic of your blog like that for you? If you blog about what you’re passionate about you’ll always have new things to share with your readers.

Blogging boredom? If you’re bored with your blog, try writing in a different style, tell a story, or make a quick, fun list. Have an alter ego character that you sometimes write in. (Make sure your character relates to a point you are making in your blog if you do this. Example: “Timid Timothy,” write about ways beginners hold themselves back from playing a bigger game online.) Your readers will think it is fun and look forward to when you’re writing “in character.”

And the winner is… Hold a contest or a challenge on your blog. How about a blogging challenge with your blogging friends. 30 posts in 30 days?! Get your readers to participate with you & have fun prizes!!! Give away your products, review their blog, give away a coaching session, your favorite book, etc.

Bucket brigade: Make it your habit to write a hook at the end of your post hinting at what your next post will be about. You’d better bet that if you said you’d be writing a post tomorrow on a specific topic you’ll be much more likely to get it done, and you will already know what you’re writing about!

Tough stuff: Explain something complicated in an easy to understand way. Use layman’s terms. Example: SEO.

FREE is fun! Make a list of the best free resources and tools that are available in your niche for your readers! (And don’t forget YOUR free report, audio, video, or whatever you use for opt-ins on your blog!)

Top Commentator: Take one of the comments you made on someone’s blog and expand on it in a post for your blog.

How to: We all have skills and know how to do things and we all love to know how to do new things, so teach me something new!

Through a beginner’s eyes: Often it’s easy to get lost in the jargon of any niche. Create a glossary of terms for beginners in your niche. Ask your readers to share more terms in the comments to enhance your post.

Ask your readers: Use a tool like survey monkey to poll your readers and ask them what their biggest challenges are. (Also check your email and forums in your niche for common questions that people are asking.)

Create a checklist: My checklist posts are always my more popular posts. I get more comments and tweets. People love to check things off a list and a checklist gives them a guide to follow and something to do step by step which is really helpful for people.

Post a video: Using a Power Point and Camtasia or Cam Studio, using photos and music with a site like Animoto, or let us see your smiling face in a real video!

Shortcuts to success: Have you learned shortcuts or easier ways of doing things in your niche? Share them on your blog…your readers will love it!

Tools of the trade: Share your favorite tools, resources, publications, books, etc. Things that would be helpful in your niche.

Review: Write a review of another blog, book, a training tool, or a product you’re an affiliate of.

Leverage the media: Read magazines and newspapers for blog ideas: (I was reading a backpacker magazine of my husband’s when I saw the “Get Over It” headline which triggered an explosion of ideas that I’m using in a whole series of posts, this being one of them.)

Leverage an event: Relate your post to an event like, back to school, holiday, something in the news, the release of a hot new movie, or the latest clever gadget.

Serial blogger: Write a series of posts that are all related. People like to follow a series, maybe something that is in order, where you are adding a step in each post.

Have a servant’s heart: Give to your readers. Pick one of your readers and give them a free review of their blog and suggestions that would help them. Ask them to be a guest blogger (Thanks Ty!), give away a tip’s sheet or helpful resource (no opt-in necessary), host a free Q & A call for your readers and post it on your blog.

Interview an expert: This could be another blogging friend, a leader in your industry or a leader in your company.

Everyone needs inspiration: Write a post to inspire your readers or write a blog post based on a powerful, funny, or insightful quote.

Top 10 list: Write a post sharing your Top 10 Blog Posts with your readers. What about Top 10 Tips, Top 10 Quotes, Top 10 Books, etc.?

Case study: Share what you are doing in your business right now, what is working, and what isn’t.

Keys to success: Check what keywords people are searching for and landing on your blog. Write a post that is optimized for the more popular keyword phrase.

Have a guest blogger write a post for you!

BONUS: Write about your free offer, explain what it is. Share the benefits and why your readers would want to get that. Link to it in lots of different post where your free report would expand on a topic and give them extra information.

Now, I am sure this list has given you some new ideas and it has probably helped you to brainstorm some of your own as well! Don’t lose them! Keep a note-book, or a list on your computer to collect ideas that pop into your head. I like to send myself an email, voice mail, or record a quick video on my phone with blog post ideas I come up with so I don’t forget them.

To make my blogging routine easier, I pick my topics on Sunday night for the week, and jot them down on my calendar. That way I have a plan for the day and I don’t waste ½ my morning brainstorming and wondering what I’m going to write about for the day.

Well, that isn’t altogether true. Google hates MLM and if you are involved with an MLM…you get the picture.

Blogging is all about staking claim to your own piece of online real estate and it is impossible to do that if you are blogging through WordPress.com or Blogger.com.

Google owns Blogger.com and you already know how they feel, but what about WordPress.com, the free (hosted) version of WordPress? How do they feel about MLM?

Well, let’s have a look at WordPress.com rules regarding MLM sites.

Blogs that violate our (WordPress.com) advertising policy:

Blogs with the primary purpose of driving traffic to affiliate programs and get-rich-quick schemes (“Make six figures from home!!”, “20 easy steps to top profits!!”, etc). This includes multi-level marketing (MLM) blogs and pyramid schemes.

By that definition, TyTribble.com is in violation of WordPress.com policy and would be at risk. Imagine you begin to build a following to your blog and one day, some outsourced policy person comes in and shuts down your blog?

Now that you understand the problem, let’s talk solution: A WordPress.org self hosted blog…a long-term home base for you and your business projects. This is YourName.com land.

If you need to know how to set up a blog, create content (even if you are a lousy writer) and drive a years worth of traffic in 30 days, you might want to consider my MLM Blog Secrets. For less than a hundred bucks, I invite you into my home office where you can look over my shoulder at my computer screen and virtually walk you through the process of setting up your blog. I cover domains, hosting, installation, creating your first page, making your first post, plugins, what to write and how to get people to read it.

I hear a lot of people saying: “I need to get on Twitter” or “I’ve got to learn how to market on Facebook”. Well, that’s all jim-dandy and those are great things to do, but do you have an overall marketing game plan?

Let’s say that you have a million people following you on Twitter. Now what?

Maxed out your Facebook friends? Okey dokey. What good is that doing you?

The tools (Twitter, Facebook, Youtube, etc) are useless without a strategy.

The fundamental strategy behind my game plan is to build trust and influence with people in my niche by providing a continuous flow of high quality content, training, help and guidance.

Here’s how I implement my plan:

Update my home base (my blog) with great content on a consistent basis (for me, that’s 3-4 times a week).

Let my Twitter followers and my Facebook friends know about my update. (It’s not about learning Twitter or Facebook. It’s about telling your followers and friends about your great blog content.

Let my opt in subscribers know about my update.

Respond to comments from readers and subscribers. (Uplift, encourage and offer guidance)

Occasionally let people know I am in business.

Number 5 is a tricky one so let me explain:

Everything I have ever done online since 2003 has been directly related to building my Network Marketing business.

Why do I give away my 7 MLM Web Secrets for free, when I could be charging for that content?

Because I know that roughly 25% of the people that opt in to my secrets are not currently involved with a Network Marketing company. Yes, you read that right. 25%! So 25% of the people that opt in to my list are potential business partners for me in my Network Marketing business. I am a Network Marketer first, in fact, I even do (GASP!) live meetings from time to time.

I also have a link at the top of my blog that says “Opportunity”. I see too many people keeping their Network Marketing business a secret when their business is the main reason they do what they do. It’s never a good idea to push your opportunity down people’s throats but keeping it a secret is not good either. This is certainly a topic that we will need to dig deeper in to in the future.

For now, have you ever drawn out your game plan?

I am taking a page out of my Blogging for Prospects playbook today and drafting off of a thought leader. This blog post was really too good to pass up and I had to let you know about it.

Here are the first two secrets (out of seven) to running a wildly successful blog from Copyblogger:

1. Have a conversation

People don’t like to be lectured or talked down to. They just like to talk. And a blog is really a form of conversation between you and your readers. Even if people don’t always directly communicate with you or leave comments, the tone of your posts should be more or less conversational.

Don’t write like you’re delivering a sermon. Write like you’re chatting with a friend. Keep it easy and informal.

2. Lighten up

You don’t have to tell jokes, but it’s smart to keep things light-hearted. Consider the Men with Pens blog. James always has a lot of fun when writing a post, and her sense of humor makes the information more readable and entertaining.

Your readers are probably having a tough day. Their desk is groaning under the weight of all their projects. The economy is crappy and their life is full of responsibility.

If they read your blog and come away feeling just a little happier, they’ll keep coming back.

Copyblogger is one of the blogs that I featured in MLM Blog Code and one that I read on a regular basis.

You’d be crazy not to check out the other 5 secrets over at Copyblogger.

Hmmm. 2 new leads a day for free with just 3 weeks worth of effort. There’s absolutely nothing wrong! That’s 60 leads a month, 720 leads a year if that pace continues. I know Amway reps who would cut off a limb for those numbers. The great thing is that if you continue doing the things that I teach in Blogging for Prospects (3 hours of free MLM Blog training) and MLM Blog Secrets, you will double, triple and quadruple those numbers over time.

Think about what it would take to go out and get 2 new leads a day in the offline world. Those are amazing results.

Once you crank it up to 2 leads a day, you might think about picking up MLM Blog Code, the click by click training that follows MLM Blog Secrets where I get into additional training on SEO, Flagship Content, HEO (Human Emotion Optimization), Copywriting and Making Money along with bonuses on taking your blog to the professional level.

If I could break down the power of blogging into two words they would be:

1. Relationships. Focus on building relationships.

2. Consistency. It’s really the missing link for most Network Marketers as well.

Now, let’s look at a bit of a bloggers “to-do list” when it comes to reading other blogs:

Read a minimum of 5 new blog articles a day in your niche.

Leave comments on all 5 articles (be thoughtful and don’t spam your blog link…just use what is available to fill in your link)

Pick your favorite blog post out of the 5 and write a post on your blog about it (link back to the original and ask for comments)

Tell your friends on Facebook and your followers on Twitter about your post.

Respond to each comment. (engage with your readers…it’s a conversation)
